It all started when Ken Lech bought his first camera when he was in the Military and then started diving in 1987. He was so taken with the beauty surrounding him he decided to take an Underwater Photography course in 1992. He bought his first underwater camera just after that. Much of the earlier photos he's taken had been a trial and error learning experience. He read everything he could find on Underwater Photography and has taken a few courses at Holyoke Community College His love of the Underwater captivated him and lead him to put in over 750 dives, and get his Master Diver and Asst. Instructor Certification. Ken says "I just love to dive and Photography makes you more aware of the Underwater Environment". He dives mostly in the Caribbean but has also taken pictures in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Palau and Yap. The Red Sea is scheduled for 2009.
Ken has been accepted into the Paradise City Art Show for 2008 and is looking forward to sharing with people aquatic life that many may not be able to experience themselves. Some photos you will readily recognize others are of life so small they could be easily be overlooked. He hopes that his photography helps to make people more aware of underwater life big and small and that we need to do what we can to preserve that environment.
